Music with a Message
This January, The Lyric Theatre presents Vocal Trash, a unique musical experience incorporating singing, industrial-style drumming, comedy, and award-winning break dancing. Vocal Trash has become famous across the country for their unique combination of environmental message and catchy rhythms. Led by the child star Kelsey Rae, Vocal Trash has performed in various locations across the world from New York to Beijing. Their performances include major pop hits like “I Gotta Feelin’” and “Footloose.” Similar to the aesthetic of the hit musical performance Stomp, Vocal Trash incorporates found objects into their musical repertoire, using trash can drums and washboards to make innovative new sounds. In their performance at The Lyric Theatre this January, Vocal Trash will perform some contemporary pop hits and many other songs, fusing professional vocal arrangements with break dance choreography. Due to the improvisational nature of their performance, each and every show is a different experience. Vocal Trash comes to The Lyric Theatre on January 15th at 7:00pm. Tickets are available online at LyricTheatre.com or through The Lyric Box Office at (772) 286-7827

Simply Salsa
On January 17th, the son of the American salsa and Latin jazz legend Tito Puente, Tito Puente Jr. will perform at The Lyric Theatre. Tito has performed in venues across the country, including symphony halls and jazz festivals. His latest album release, In My Father’s Shoes, was made into a BET Jazz television special. On radio and television, Tito has appeared on the NPR tribute The Apollo at 70: A Hot Night in Harlem as well as on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live, playing alongside his big band. Tito has also performed in a number of symphonies across the United States, including the Dallas, San Antonio, and South Bend symphonies.
