World-renowned actor and vocalist Stig Rossen first came to fame when he assumed the lead role of Jean Valjean in the musical “Les Misérables.” He performed the role nearly 2,000 times in 10 countries, and was lauded by producer Sir Cameron McIntosh as “the best Valjean ever.”
A double threat as an actor and singer, Rossen has performed in countless sold-out concert tours and numerous musical theater productions worldwide. He has also appeared in productions of the musicals “Chess,” “Copacabana” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” (as Judas).
Rossen’s musical stylings span many genres, including musical theater, popular music, gospel and timeless standards. He has collaborated with such diverse artists as Southjutland’s Symphony Orchestra, Nana Mouskouri, Trine Gadburg and American Gospel star Lillian Boutté. Rossen was the first Danish singer to be featured in a PBS television special. “Stig Rossen in Concert” aired in December 2003, and was quickly followed by a successful concert tour throughout the and . A second special, “This is the Moment with Stig Rossen,” premiered on PBS in 2005.
