The Lyric Theatre Announces Tickets are On Sale Now for the Special Fund Raising Performance of KC & The Sunshine Band!

The Lyric Theatre has announced that it will host a special fundraising performance by K.C. and the Sunshine Band on Sunday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m.  The concert, which will also mark the grand opening of the Lyric’s 2008-09 season, will include pre and post-concert partying with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dessert and disco.  All proceeds will benefit the Lyric Theatre.  Tickets are $250 per person.

KC & the Sunshine Band are still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced onto the music scene 35 years ago.  The group’s hits are synonymous with the best of the disco era:  “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Boogie Shoes,” “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” “I’m Your Boogie Man,” and many more. 

With sales of over 100 million records, nine Grammy nominations, three Grammy Awards and an American Music Award, KC & The Sunshine Band was one of the most progressive bands of the 70s, and is credited with changing the sound of modern pop music.  Their special fundraising performance at the Lyric promises to have you dancing in the aisles.  So put on your platform shoes and polyester:  It’s time to “Get Down Tonight”!
