John Loesser Named “Man of the Year" by Stuart Women's Club

The Woman’s Club of Stuart recently named John Loesser, Executive Director of the Lyric Theatre in Stuart, The 2009 Man of the Year. The surprise announcement was made during the 95th anniversary celebration and fashion show held on February 9 at Miles Grant Country Club. 

This is the third year that the Woman’s Club has given out this award. “We get together as a board and choose someone in the community who has made a significant positive impact on our community.  Under John’s leadership, the Lyric has blossomed  a significant  performing arts center that has a major cultural, economic and philanthropic effect on our community,” stated Anne Schafer, a board member and co-chair of the recent fashion show where the announcement was made.

Past winners, Mark Perry and Harry MacArthur, presented the award to John with help from David Opasik.  Standing on stage with the three men John said,” This is very rare but I am absolutely speechless. This is wonderful.”
