The Lyric Theatre Presents

Shalom

The color, pageantry and folk traditions of Israel and beyond will fill the Lyric stage when Shalom, one of the world’s leading dance troupes, brings its talented dancers to South Florida.

Shalom’s rich repertoire includes Israeli and international folk dances, Fiddler on the Roof (a series inspired by the culture of the shtetl), gypsy dances and festival and ethnic choreography.

Founded by acclaimed choreographer Gavri Levi in 1976, Shalom has received outstanding reviews for its performances around the globe – from the Cultural Center in Tel Aviv to concert halls in Amsterdam, Budapest, Belgium, Frankfurt, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City,  Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paola, Venezuela and Warsaw.  Levi has created all the dances for Shalom since the group’s inception.

Shalom has been recognized with the Kinor David (David’s Harp) and Vered Hakesef (Silver Rose) awards for its contribution to Israeli folklore.  You won’t want to miss this incredibly talented troupe as they capture the style and spirit of millennia-old traditions through dance.
