The Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra Featuring Dick Hyman
Composer/pianist Dick Hyman has had a storied career: composing and arranging music for a dozen Woody Allen films, musically directing the Jazz in July series at New York's 92nd Street Y for 20 years, and playing jazz piano with Benny Goodman and others since the big band era. His extensive repertoire covers the Great American Songbook, the best of Broadway, and tunes by composers from Gershwin to Porter to Ellington.
Hyman will perform at the Lyric with the renowned Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra from the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts. The all-star Jazz Orchestra also features Lew Del Gatto on tenor sax, Glenn Basham on violin, Jerry Stawski on piano, Dan Miller on trumpet, Kevin Mauldin on bass and Mike Harvey on drums.
