Featuring the Uproot Hootenanny and The Kregs
Saturday, January 14th - 7 p.m.
Join us at the Lyric Theatre for two of the Treasure Coast’s hottest bands playing their most unique distinctive sounds.
If it is roots based music, Uproot Hootenanny plays it. Uproot Hootenanny is a five piece acoustic string band from Deerfield Beach, FL featuring a five string banjo, mandolin, guitar, fiddles, dobro, upright bass, and great vocal harmonies.
Their styles range from hard driving bluegrass to Celtic/Irish, Americana, rock & roll, blues, and folk. They write a lot of their own material, and they are known for a very high energy, entertaining and uplifting performance every time they play. They have been described as "a band you can work up a sweat just listening to", and will get your toes tappin and your feet movin’!
Uproot Hootenanny has had a busy year in 2011, from touring in Ireland playing the Bandon Music Fest in County Cork and touring the northeast U.S. playing festivals and clubs regularly, as well as playing four nites a week in South Florida.
The Kregs are Stuart’s ultimate garage band with decades of combined experience – these guys created a musician’s band! Uninterested in playing overdone songs, they developed a diverse and quirky pallet of obscure cover tunes, however their true passion is crafting original music. Sit back and enjoy their catchy hooks and get into the groove.
