Atlantic Classical Orchestra Presents

Series II

Kernis, Musica Celestis
Mendelssohn, Double Concerto
        Christopher, O'Riley, Piano
        Caroline Goulding, Violin
Arriaga, Symphony in D

Two little-known masterpieces paired with a newly minted classic!  Known as the “Spanish Mozart,” Arriaga was a child prodigy who wrote his Symphony (1825) shortly before his death at the age of 19.  Aaron Jay Kernis’ Musica Celestis is often compared to Barber’s Adagio for Strings and is a short, soulful work for string orchestra.
