American Ballet Theatre II

American Ballet Theatre II is an elite classical dance company showcasing young performers of outstanding potential.  The company’s members are hand-picked from around the world by the artistic staff of the American Ballet Theatre, one of the world’s most revered and innovative dance companies.

Hailed by The New York Times as “One of the great dance success stories in recent years . . .” ABT II serves as a bridge between ballet training and professional performance for talented young dancers ages 16 to 20. 

ABT II’s varied repertoire mirrors the traditions of the American Ballet Theatre, from classical ballet to contemporary choreography.  Performances showcase premieres by new and established choreographers, as well as previously existing American Ballet Theatre works. 

Now in its fourteenth season, ABT II brings the excitement and energy of this burgeoning professional company to theaters throughout the country.  We are pleased to welcome this outstanding troupe for their first performance at the Lyric.
