Lyric’s Awesome! Summer Campers are in for an exciting, fun-filled summer! Our summer camp is for kids of all backgrounds and interests, offered at an incredibly affordable rate. Students are encouraged to express themselves, embrace their talents, quirks and individuality.
L.A.S.C. is a camp for all kinds of kids and although this is a theater camp, we are aware that not every kid wants to be in the spotlight. There are plenty of behind the scenes roles or perhaps your camper wants to share in the fun on stage but not be singled out. That’s ok by us. Everyone is welcome and important.
A Typical Day…
A typical day at L.A.S.C. is anything but typical. Each day campers will rotate to drama, dance and music groups where they learn new skills, materials and work on their presentations for the grand finale – The Sharing!
Some of the things campers can expect to learn in Drama include basic acting principles, creative writing, staging, improvisation and stage presence. In Music, campers will learn the fundamentals of singing, rhythms, terminology and vocal performance. Dance group will introduce campers to various styles of dance – including music theatre dance, jazz, ballet and hip-hop. We will also have regularly scheduled recreations such as movie days at The Lyric, Field Day games (potato sack races, water balloons, etc.), Arts & Crafts and special guest instructors. Most importantly all campers will learn how to work as a TEAM!
WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING...
Just wanted to say how much fun Annie is having. At school, she's been picked on, teased, and bullied and that has really hurt her self-confidence and self-image. I knew from experience that putting her in a creative environment would allow her to grow and shine. I wanted to help her find a "home" in the theater because of her bubbly personality. Anyway thanks so much to you and your staff for making her feel safe enough to be herself :) –
Just wanted to say again what a wonderful job you and your staff has done last week! Kids both had a great week and couldn’t stop singing and dancing around this weekend, oh, and played “Park Bench” as well as making us play too;) So, thank you. I commend such a fabulous program and have been raving about it to everyone!
My daughter is really enjoying herself! Her father and I can't thank your staff enough for what a great job you do. It's worth all the constant singing, dancing, clapping, snapping, tapping and elbow clapping we've had to listen to,and learn ourselves, to see Thia's self esteem grow and watch her be so happy : ). Thanks a million.
I just wanted to let you know that Cassie is having so much fun at camp again this year. She absolutely LOVES it! And her daddy and I are thrilled to see her enthusiasm every day as she shares her day's adventures with us. We are witnessing her evolve into quite a little performer and drama queen (in a good way, lol), and she seems a whole lot braver to perform in front of others, compared to last year, Thank you and your staff for all you are doing!
