Creole for Kidz & The History of Zydeco 

This dynamic experience takes students on a musical journey, to the early days of Zydeco music and its pioneers.  Renowned Zydeco master Terrance Simien will perform a selection of this roots music designed for younger audiences, including the song “Gonna Take You There” from Disney’s animated film, “The Princess and the Frog.”  Students will be energized by the foot stompin’, hand clappin’ authentic Zydeco music, and will take a trip back in time to learn about its origins.  A lucky few will also get to take the stage and accompany the band on rub boards.  And there will be Mardi Gras beads for everyone!
