The Lyric Theatre Presents

GEORGETTE JONES

She’s the daughter of country western music royalty.  Georgette Jones was born to the only Hall of Fame husband and wife country artists:  George Jones and the “First Lady of Country Music,” Tammy Wynette.  She has been singing with one or both parents since the age of three.

Georgette recorded her first single with her dad, “Daddy Come Home,” when she was just 10 years old, and performed it on an HBO special.  She has also worked as a backup singer for her mother.  A songwriter as well as a vocalist, Georgette co-wrote a duet entitled “You and Me and Time,” which was the first single from her father’s CD, “Burn Your Playhouse Down.”  She released her own CD, “A Slightly Used Woman,” in 2010.

Georgette’s new memoir, “The Three of Us:  Growing Up with Tammy and George,” tells the story of her reconnecting with her father after years apart.  Publisher’s Weekly says the book “ . . . reads like a song classic full of heartache, disappointment, tragedy and redemption.”

Georgette recorded a duet with Mark McGuinn that was included on his “One Man’s Crazy” CD, and has appeared on television shows that include “Crook & Chase,” “RFD-TV” and “The Grand Ole Opry.”  She filmed the T.V. series “Sordid Lives,” starring alongside Leslie Jordan, Olivia Newton-John and Margaret Cho, and performed three of her mother’s classic country tunes for the soundtrack.
