Queen Nation – A Tribute to the Music of Queen
Travel back to the height of Arena Rock and experience Queen when Queen Nation pays homage to the golden age of Queen’s high-energy, unforgettable concerts of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Featuring Joe Retta, Gregory Finsley, Mike McManus, Pete Burke, and Parker Combs, Queen Nation is a live, 90-minute production of Queen’s biggest hits from “Bohemian Rhapsody” to “We Are the Champions.” Freddie Mercury can never be replaced, but Queen Nation honors his legacy like no one else can.
Formed in London in 1970, Queen brought Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon together in one incredible group that changed the history of rock and roll. Encompassing a wide variety of genres from progressive rock to heavy metal and pop, Queen was one of the biggest and most popular stadium rock groups of all time. Songs such as “We Will Rock You” and “We are the Champions” became permanent sports anthems and with nearly 300 million records sold, Queen is recognized as one of the best-selling music artists ever. Following the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991, Queen disbanded, but was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
Queen Nation’s front man and keyboardist Mike McManus was born in Boston and studied music at the Berklee School of Music before founding the hard-rock band Egodog. Also on vocals and keyboard is Greg Finsley, who took up percussion at the age of 11 and has played with the greatest musicians in New Orleans since 1995. Bassist Parker Combs began playing standup bass at age 12 and has spent the last 18 years of his career playing original and cover music in a variety of genres from rock to funk to country. Drummer Peter Burke has been active in the LA music scene since the mid ‘90s and has performed throughout Europe with the CSUN Symphony Orchestra. Burke has also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, and On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Presented by Allengang Entertainment and The Lyric Theatre.
