SWINGTIME! Featuring the Jive Aces

When they appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, curmudgeon Simon Cowell said the music “actually put me in a good mood.” The Jive Aces, a jive and swing band from the United Kingdom, is renowned for its high-energy jump jive, swing music and spectacular stage show. The sextet, joined on stage by a dance team, the Hollywood Hotshots, is a clap-your-hands, sing-out-loud and maybe dance-in-the-aisles musical experience.

The Jive Aces’ repertoire stretches from the classic tunes of the Swing Era to the glitz of the Rat Pack, with a dash of R & B, swing and jazz. You’ll hear songs that range from “That Old Black Magic” to “Over the Rainbow” to “Nothin’s too Good for My Baby,” with songs made famous by Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Louis Prima, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as original songs taken from their albums.

The group is in high demand, headlining and selling out the first-ever swing dance at the venerable Royal Albert Hall in London and has brought the house down at festivals, theaters and events throughout Europe, the United States and some 30 other countries. They have appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Ryder Cup and the Grand Order of Water Rats Annual Ball. They have made hundreds of appearances on television and radio and recently completed a residency on BBC Radio London. Their music video, Bring Me Sunshine, has become a viral sensation, with nearly two million views on YouTube. They have appeared for the late Duke of Edinburgh at the World Pony Carriage Championships and for Her Majesty the Queen as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

In their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, judge Alisha Dixon said, “You are so joyful to watch, every single one of you. That was world class.”

Come swing with the band that made Simon Cowell smile. It won’t be nearly as hard for you.
