U.K.’s #1 Swing Band Comes to Stuart
This March, The Lyric Theatre welcomes the London-based swing band The Jive Aces in SWINGTIME, a night of swing, jive, and R&B. The first band to reach the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, The Jive Aces have developed their own style of performance called “Jump Jive,” which they describe as a combination of swing and rock music. Throughout their career, the sextet has worked with major recording artists such as Chuck Berry and Isaac Hayes. Accompanying The Jive Aces for this performance are The Tinseltown Jitterbugs, a six-person swing dancing troupe led by California Swing Dance Hall of Fame inductee Minn Vo. In SWINGTIME, The Jive Aces and The Tinseltown Jitterbugs will celebrate the greatest swing, jive, and R&B musicians of the 20th century. The group will perform hits from classic swing-era performers including Louis Prima, Dean Martin, and Bobby Darin, as well as some of their own original songs. SWINGTIME comes to The Lyric Theatre on March 3rd at 6:00pm and 8:30pm. Tickets are available online at LyricTheatre.com or through The Lyric Box Office at (772) 286-7827.

The event was widely covered by major news networks including the BBC, CNN, and Fox News. At the 2009 Jack Richardson Music Awards in Ontario, The McCartney Years won the distinguished “Fan Favorite” award.
