The Chipper Experience! Where Comedy and Magic Collide!

Family Fun Series

Bizarre juggling stunts! Jaw-dropping mentalism! Magic and music! Stand-Up! And that’s just in the first 15 minutes of The Chipper Experience, starring comedian and magician Chipper Lowell. He brings to The Lyric a show the Los Angeles Times called “Frenetic, Feverish and Hilarious,” and CBS News said it was “One of the coolest things we’ve seen!” Lowell, twice Comedy Magician of the Year, is a manic red-head who specializes in edgy yet clean comedy and magic. He has been seen on The Tonight Show, Show Me the Funny! the Disney Channel, and on all four seasons of the Masters of Illusion on the CW network.

Lowell, who has been described as “an artistic cyclone of talent and comedy,” had the childhood millions of kids have dreamed of. His father was a professional clown with Ringling Brothers and his mother performed as an aerialist. Performing and comedy are in his DNA. By the time he was 17, he was creating his own shows, parodying many of the acts he saw growing up and creating his own magic acts. He got improvisation training with the famed Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles and that led to working the comedy club circuit for seven years. Soon he was headlining at casino towns in Las Vegas, Tahoe, Reno and Atlantic City and at resorts including Caesar’s, Harrah’s and Resorts International. Along the way, he’s been named “Comedy Magician of the Year” twice, nominated three times for “Stage Magician of the Year,” and was listed among the “Top Funniest Magicians Performing Today” by Magic magazine.

In 2019, Chipper starred as the Owner/Ringmaster in the Broadway theatrical show, Circus 1903, seen in countries around the world. This full-scale stage production featured an original score, dazzling sets, amazing artists and two jaw-dropping “elephants,” created and manipulated by the puppeteering team that brought War Horse to Broadway and the West End.

The magician performs at charity and fundraising events throughout the year, with a special focus on autism awareness and promoting financial support for families dealing with autism. For the past few years, he has spoken about how he and his wife have raised their son, who was diagnosed with high functioning autism at 3. He is working on a book on parenting children with autism.

These days, Lowell is touring with “The Chipper Experience! Where Comedy and Magic Collide!” It is a family-friendly stage production that has toured the world. In 2006-2007, it ran for a record-breaking 12 months at the Horizon Casino Resort in Lake Tahoe. Ladies, gentlemen and children of all ages will fall in love with the magic and comedy and leave with a smile and feeling, well, Chipper.
