The Pendage Estate was aflutter with activity as the men and women of the sprawling villa prepared to entertain the myriad guests of the region’s greatest and only Masquerade Ball. The best Chef had been procured, the finest cutlery laid out, the savviest speakers brought in, and the most classic of minstrels paid handsomely for this famous event. All that was missing were the many guests of the Ball, dressed in their best and adorned in the richest and most artistic masks eyes would ever see. That is, until someone decided to end the life of Countess Pendage!
