Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone
At the ripe age of 15, Peter Noone joined a band that was to become one of the most successful British imports of 1960s. The “Heartbeats” – which were renamed “Herman & The Hermits” and ultimately “Herman’s Hermits” – debuted on the music scene with their first single, “I’m Into Something Good,” in the summer of 1964. The record reached #1 in England and #13 in the states.
The hits kept coming, including two chart-toppers in the U.S.: “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” and “I’m Henry the Eighth, I Am.” The group reached #2 on the U.S. charts with “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” and scored additional hits with “There’s a Kind of Hush,” “Wonderful World,” “Silhouettes,” “Just a Little Bit Better,” “A Must to Avoid,” “Listen People,” “The End of the World” and “Dandy.”
Altogether, Herman’s Hermits placed an impressive 20 singles into the Top 40 in England and America between 1964 and 1970. The band ultimately sold over 60 million records, with 14 singles and seven albums going gold.
Central to the successful sound of the Hermits were the distinctive vocals of Peter Noone, who keeps the tradition alive today, playing to sold-out venues worldwide. You’ll marvel at his enduring talent and compelling stage presence, as he takes you on a musical trip down Memory Lane.
