The Lyric Theatre Presents

BOOM!  STARRING LIZ CALLAWAY & ANN HAMPTON CALLAWAY

Sisters, vocalists and Tony-nominated actresses Liz and Ann Hampton Callaway combine their considerable musical forces in their new show, “BOOM!”  Singing and celebrating the soundtrack of their childhood – and that of other baby boomers – the sisters put their unmistakable stamp on such classics as “Both Sides Now,” “Up, Up and Away,” “That’s the Way I Always Heard It Should Be,” “Bridge Over Trouble Water” and many more.

Ann Hampton Callaway has made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, arranger, actress and producer.  She is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical, “Swing!”  Ann is a Platinum Award-winning writer (her songs have been recorded by the likes of Barbra Streisand and Patti LuPone) and has performed with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops.  Her unique singing style blends jazz and traditional pop, making her a mainstay in concert halls, theaters and jazz clubs nationwide.

Liz Callaway made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along,” and received a Tony nomination for her performance in “Baby.”  For five years, she sang “Memory” as Grizabella in “Cats,” and she also starred in the original cast of “Miss Saigon.”  Other New York appearances include “Godspell,” “Marry Me a Little,” “Follies in Concert at Lincoln Center” and “Fiorello!” at Encores!  In addition to her significant theatrical background, Liz is a sought-after cabaret performer at venues throughout the country.

This celebrated sister act brings together the best of music greats like Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Carly Simon, The Beatles, Paul Simon, Jimmy Webb and Stevie Wonder in their own inimitable style.  Whether or not you’re a “Boomer,” you’ll love this musical trip down Memory Lane!
