The Lyric Theatre Presents

Theatre Orchestra of Florida presents An Evening with "Tony" & "Oscar"

Back at the Lyric by popular demand after a sold-out performance last season, the Theatre Orchestra of Florida returns with an evening featuring some of the world’s most beloved music from stage and screen.

You’ll hear favorites from West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Evita (“Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina”), Les Miserables (“I Dreamed a Dream”) and the movie Titanic (“My Heart Will Go On”).  The concert will also feature selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, including The Sound of Music.

The Theatre Orchestra of Florida is comprised of south Florida’s most accomplished musicians, including members of the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic and other preeminent musical ensembles.  The Orchestra was founded by conductor and music director Mark Giuliani, who made his Lincoln Center Debut in 2006.

Featured soloists for the evening are tenor Roberto Iarussi and soprano Alexandra Rafalo.  Iarussi’s voice has been praised by legendary icons such as Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jerome Himes, who have attested to the tonal beauty and dramatic power of his singing.  Iarussi has performed with opera companies in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.  Alexandra Rafalo has been recognized for her passionate musical interpretations and lush lyric soprano.  She has sung at the Sarasota Opera, Opera Fresca in California, and in concert venues throughout the country.

This incredible ensemble will come together to bring you memorable musical moments from Broadway to the movies.
