PINCHAS ZUCKERMAN
“Youth sticks with some people . . . Zukerman seems the forever-young virtuoso: expressively resourceful, infectiously musical, technically impeccable, effortless.” – The Los Angeles Times
Pinchas Zukerman has been recognized as a phenomenon for over four decades. The world-renowned violinist, violist and conductor is widely considered to be one of the greatest violinists of the 20th and 21st centuries. His musical genius, prodigious technique and exceptional artistic standards have consistently – and deservedly – earned him the highest acclaim.
Zukerman’s exceptional career includes scores of highlights too numerous to list in full. He serves as Music Director of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra, chairs the Pinchas Zukerman Performance Program at the Manhattan School of Music, and has conducted the Pittsburgh, Seattle and Madison Symphonies. An avid chamber music performer, Zukerman has appeared with such luminaries as Daniel Barenboim, Vladmir Ashkenazy, Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman. He gives over 150 concerts annually, performing with the world’s premier orchestras.
Zukerman has earned 2 Grammy Awards, 21 Grammy nominations, the National Medal of Arts and the Isaac Stern Award for Artistic Excellence. His extensive discography contains over 100 titles. Zukerman’s devotion to younger generations of musicians who are inspired by his magnetism has been applauded worldwide.
Equally respected as a violinist, violist, conductor, chamber musician and teacher, Pinchas Zukerman is indeed a master of our time.
